Why do we want to compare ourselves on consecrated and people LGBT+in the parish in Montesilvano?
Reflections of Maria Assunta of the new lives network
On Monday 24 March 2025 at 10.00 we will have the pleasure of hosting at the church of the Visitation of Pescara, Chiara d'Urbano, psychologist and psychotherapist, consultation of the dicastery for the clergy, who has been dealing for the time of training and psychotherapeutic accompaniment of priestly and consecrated life.
Our parish of the Blessed Virgin of Monte Carmelo in Montesilvano (Pescara) thanks to the will of the parish priest Don Valentino Iezzi, has for some years now started a pastoral of the inclusion of LGBT people, but also of the parents of LGBT people, thanks to groups that meet monthly.
Training and information events are also organized to the population but also to priests, to throw seeds of cultural change that only knowledge can achieve.
We firmly believe in the importance of the priestly role and of all the consecrated/s who strongly affects social awareness, which is why the figure of Chiara d'Urbano seemed very effective to propose new contents and new perspectives through which to observe the complex world of human existence.
All this to provide useful tools to priests and consecrated/s to expand the gaze and abandon that short -sighted vision that the Church has often used to formulate judgments and sentences on people who are called "different".
We are waiting for you!
