Christian democracy and homosexuals
Reflections sent to us by Irene Agovino
A few weeks ago, in silence, to the program It is not the arena Of Giletti, an affirmation has passed in silence which is a bit the secret of Pulcinella.
As he raged a series against DC and his relationship with homosexual men and women, Gianfranco Rotondi, former Berlusconi undersecretary and leading exponent of the Christian Democrats said: "Put the DC in the middle, which he had, without making names, men and women expression of that trend, is out of place".
The point is the names. They don't want to do, but many know them. Let's take a step back. When in 2018 the member of Vatican communications, and scion of Cardinal Farrell, James Martin He said that there were LGBT (and non -gay) saints, the journalists have unleashed. But they have not made names. The names, but to reiterate chastity, have made them traditionalist newspapers (and today anti -theft) as The daily compass and Glory.
Who are these LGBT saints? Some are known, others don't. Some are holy defenders of Orthodoxy, such as Sant'Alfonso Maria dei Liguori (according to the newspapers above), while others have made a shy and withdrawn life, as Santa Marina.
But woe, traditionalists say, in approaching them to the LGBT world. And we could say that if we don't mention names, we can forget DC men and women too.
Indeed, why highlight this open secret? Who is scared to know that there were Christian Democrat men and women - not just honorable ones - who had such tendencies? Who is afraid of the Christians of yesteryear in homo guise? Perhaps much more the liberals than the traditionalists, who apparently are not afraid to mention these names.
