Webinar in Italian and English with the American poet and essayist Joy Ladin
Moderate Letizia Tomassone and Daniela Di Carlo, Waldensian shepherd and theologians

What does it mean to live one's authenticity and reread the Torah through a transgender perspective? What can her journey as a believer teach us through her Jewish experience between genders?

Joy Ladin He is a poet, an American essayist who was the first person openly transgender to teach in an Orthodox Jewish institution. In his essays and in his poetry books, Joy often explores the best known stories of the Torah - the first five books of the Bible - through the lens of the transgender experience.

Her reflections guide us to discover a God who challenges every human category, inviting us to rediscover sacred texts with new eyes. Rooted in Jewish tradition, her thought touches upon universal themes: the relationship between faith and identity, the experience of marginalization and non-acceptance, and the possibility of finding in God a space of belonging and recognition.

A meeting in English, but translated simultaneously in Italian, for those who want to deepen the dialogue between spirituality, genre and inclusion.
