Enzo Bianchi: "(...) All of you realize, for closed that you are, for chopsticks that you are, that sexual anthropology has changed, that we no longer have the same vision of the sexuality that we had thirty years ago. Even the most rods, those who close their eyes when they feel the word homosexuality, notice it. By now we see many gays who live together; In our families there are homosexual couples ...
Certainly the Church wonders. And what does the Church have? He has the scriptures, which are "very clear": a homosexual relationship, a homosexual life, is "serious sin against God". God's will is "a union between a man and a woman", "open to life"; There are no exceptions. In the Old Testament, sin is even condemned with the death penalty. The writing "says it", "condemns him".
In the New Testament, Christians boast of being different from the pagans precisely because they do not practice homosexuality. And then we have a whole story of the Church that includes it between "the most serious sins", even among those who "shout revenge in the presence of God". Look, that, in the Middle Ages, the sodomites, those who have the brand of homosexuality, were not even buried in cups but had to be buried outside, next to the suicides.
This has come to the statements of the Holy Office, up to the catechism of the Catholic Church twenty years ago.
But, in the West, things change. If this goes very well in Africa and Asia, in South America no (there is a terrible promiscuity, which lies in their customs) and, in Europe, the law also allows the unions that are celebrated and to which they are linked to the rights and contractual duties.
In addition, in the churches of Belgium, Holland and Germany has come in recent years to have priests who bless homosexual couples. If a homosexual couple lives the relationship of loyalty, says his seriousness, the two are good Christians, they go to liturgies, attend the community or the parish, at a certain point, ask for a blessing. And the priest gives them the blessing.
Can this be done? He is asked two years ago to the Congregation of Faith. The congregation responds in a lapidary way: “No. A sin cannot be bless. " The others reply: “But it's not about blessing a sin. It is about blessing a bond, a love story. And, if the Church blesses the cows, tractors, motorcycles, why shouldn't a couple who want to bless? "
It is not the sacrament of marriage, attention: it is not a sacrament and it is not marriage. It is to invoke, on two people, that there is peace between them, that they are faithful, that the Lord accompanies them. Later, the Pope said: "But I, that letter of the Holy Office, have never seen it". And then these bishops found themselves ringalluzziti.
The day before yesterday the bishop of Spira, in Germany, he wrote to the priests: "I recommend, bless the homosexual couples as long as they seriously live their relationship and give a guarantee of loyalty". And he even gave him a kind of blessing liturgy (so that they don't say nonsense and there are no exaggerations).
The situation is this. In addition, next to this but I just mention it, there is the problem of the "gender", which has been imposed lately. You know that, in nature, which we want, there are people who are born without a precise genre or who, during their lives, feel another identity within them. It is a drama. Who among you knows, knows that it is a drama. I have known several of them for years.
They come to ask me for advice on how to live this situation. Especially those who begin or want to start a path that is also of surgery, often ask me: "What happens psychologically? Do I have to do it? I don't have to do it?". And look: they are all situations of pain! Of suffering! And people with whom Mercy and Compassion takes! No judgment! And instead you know that a part of the Church doesn't even want to know.
Then note that, in the Instrumentum Laboris, that is, that document with which we arrived at the Synod, there was a paragraph on them, with the formula "LGBT Christians ..."That thing there, this too disappeared. There is no more mention. Another track that is not known where it is over. Closed forever? We will see.
(...) The Synod has closed so, saying that now we have a year of great work and, in a year, we will see.
(...) We must act that the Catholic Church is this. It is very polarized, it is an immature church, it is not an adult, and it is now necessary to hope for a year of great work by theologians, by those who can help the Pope in this, to arrive next year to the outlets with some decisions, knowing well that, for now, we will never talk about priesthood to women (...), we will not even get to the deacon women (...).
I believe that some orders of married men will come and, on sexuality, I believe it will be all stopped. They will pretend nothing; In the West they will let things go like this, so that Africa and other countries do not feel disturbed in their beliefs ".
We best wishes for a speedy recovery to Brother Enzo Bianchi, because, with his eighty years played, he can continue to be the very modern prophet we have always known. But this time, we also hope that, on the last sentences, we are wrong.
