Fanatism, of any religion, is never an expression of a faith, but only and exclusively of ignorance, abuse and oppression! (Luca 1: 46-55)
Reflections by Don Fabio
Luca 1: 46-55: "My soul magnificent the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God, my savior, because he looked at the humility of his servant".
The words of the Magnificat this morning immediately made me think of everything that is happening in Iran ... is absurd! We remain silent in front of certain scenes and certain news! I hope, and I wish me with all my heart, that soon, all these women can sing their "magnificat" as soon as possible.
To all of them, and all the women oppressed for any reason, I dedicate these words of Don Tonino Bello: “No, it wasn't neutral. Just read the Magnificat to realize that Mary has lined up. It took a position, that is. On the side of the poor, of course. Humiliated and offenders of all time. Of the discriminated by human malice and excluded from the strength of fate. In short, of all those who count nothing in front of the eyes of history.
“Mary is not like certain mothers who, for love of quiet living, give reason to everyone and, in order not to create problems, end up supporting the abuses of the children more. No. She takes a position. Without ambiguity and without half measures. The part, however, on which he chooses to certify is not the fort of class claims, and not even the trenches of the interests of a group. But it is the soil, the only one, where she hopes that one day, the conflicts, all her children, former oppressive and ex -oppressors, turned upside down, can finally find their liberation ".
With love, Fabio!
