Dalle frontiere al Sinodo. I cristiani LGBT+ all’interno del cammino sinodale italiano
Christians LGBT+, their family members and pastoral operators who accompany them, are used to living the "border"And it is perhaps for this reason that they felt strongly asked by a synodal path in which we talk about"A "outgoing" church, a missionary church "with open doors"»(CFR DP 15). This is demonstrated by the documents collected in "From the borders to the Synod. Some paths made with LGBT+ Christians within the synodal journey in Italy", Edited by the Jesuit Father Pino Piva and Gianni Geraci and created by the Association La Tenda di Gionata. A text that, in its 44 pages, collects a part of the many writings which, over the past twelve months, have been offered to the synodal reflection by the Galaxy of Christians LGBT+ Italian and beyond.
Because if LGBT+believers, in the Church, are on the "theshold"Or even along the borders, it is not following their decision, and it is through these contributions they want to help their Church to welcome their lives and to be more faithful to the Gospel.
He writes in the preface to the volume Sister María Luisa Berzosa, member of the Commission of the Synod of Bishops for the spirituality and consultant of the Congregation for Catholic Education, which "Synodality is to live an ecclesial participatory and inclusive process, which offers everyone- in particular to those who for various reasons are in marginal situations- the opportunity to express themselves and be listened to to contribute to the construction of the people of God. (DP 2).
At this moment many people and groups have listened with hope, sometimes not without distrust due to the experiences lived, this invitation and, overcoming the distrust, said their word to the general secretariat of the Synod, which is the recipient of everything we want to do get to the Synod.
Among these groups there are our brothers and sisters who live differently the emotional-sexual dimension, and who are Christians and want to live their faith within the Church. We know that many times they have undergone the refusal and marginalization in the groups that we call Christians, or in other ecclesial instances. Because of this attitude and other similar, we will not have a synodal church if it will not be united to forgiveness and reconciliation. It is necessary to recognize our sin, ask for forgiveness and commit to changing attitude.
In this way we will create a more credible church, more similar to the dream of Jesus. More reconciled among all those who are part of it".
This text wants to listen to some of the voices of the LGBT+Christians, their family members and pastoral workers who accompany them, which we want to offer "to the whole ecclesial community, so that the wealth of the experiences of faith of LGBT+ people can nourish the whole Church "
