Gay as an enemy: from the Greek "effeminates", to the antigerender battle of Putin Russia
Reflections by Irene Agovino
The Orthodox homeland Kirill (Cirillo in Italian), holiness on the ground, but in the best tradition from Byzantium onwards, a puppet expression in the hands of the king of duty, said that since 2014 a war against Orthodox values takes place. These values are those of the Biological Men's wedding against the vision of gender. It is not the first time that the homosexual (or the "soft") is seen as an enemy: his "diversity" in bed is the proof of his meanness and we must go far back to have this vision.
It was the year 524 AC when Aristodemo di Cuma, in a famous battle, as very bloody (the sources speak of over 1000 deaths, which for the time are immense) defeated the Etruscans: returned to the homeland, he had popularity, but also Infamie . His detractors began to define him Malakos (Effaminato) who had two meanings: to be soft as character or be soft in bed, that is, be passive.
For the Greeks the second was something shameful, especially for a free man as a strategos could be. And the appellation of Effaminato in that sense was so alive, that in the subsequent battles, the enemies derive the poor Aristodemo, that he will die, perhaps more for his senior methods that for his presents passivity, killed by a conspiracy of the palace.
Julius Caesar is remembered for his innumerable straight passions: yet in battle he was called "his wife" for his alleged (passive) relationship with the king of Bitinia, of which he was a guest. Obviously this idea also obscene for the Romans- he was also hummed by Caesar's enemies, who hated they were defeated by a "Checca".
The same vision had the Scottish, when they fought against the English troops in the mid -fourteenth century. The commanders of the villages of Scotland pushed to fight the invaders also on the push of this homosexual reports of Edoardo II, a character certainly controversial and not at all suitable for the throne, who was several times on the point of making him tear from conspiracies and with a wife- Isabella of France- More "male" than him, at least according to certain stereotypes. On the homosexuality of the sovereign, however, the sources are discordant.
And finally we come to the present day: when it is gay being- and not having sex as gay- The real problem. Richard von Kraff-Ebing, a well-known doctor of the late nineteenth century, was the first to divide the world into homosexuals (still confused with the pederasts of the classical era) and heterosexuals (also given these as erotomani, but with less gay hormones) . The lesbians are absent, who will later come to devastate the dreams of the pure in war.
With the First World War the male homosexual stereotype was agitated; The French affirmed with a profound disgust of hordes of "sodomites" that they would have raped children in Belgium- obviously Germans and Austrian-twenties, for their part, the soldiers of the German empire accused the opponents of behaviors not consumed to morality. The right war for democracy (the triple understood) or for the order (triple alliance) also became a Holy war against the homosensible bad and mean, which corrupt the world.
When the Fuher went up to power in 1933, despite the friendship with Rohm- known gay- the crusades for purification were also against homosexuality and for the first time, lesbism. At the beginning, only the premises of the opponents were closed, but then - also to avoid voices on himself - Hitler forbade all the equivocal clubs and on the night of the long knives, killed his friend Rohm. Of course, his fault was popularity and not having attended Marchettari; But the Duce del Nazismo knew how to exploit Rohm's "weakness" and many knows to bring them back to the ranks and demand, as a good Austrian, maximum loyalty.
The Nazi-Gay stereotype, however, was so used that the bombs launched on the German cities recited phrases such as: "Supposed for Adolf"And when there was liberation, newspapers, films and books competed to give homosexuals to the Nazi -fascist enemy (think of Rossellini's open city in Rome). And he certainly did not help the adhesion of many homo and bisexuals declared male - but also of many women - to Vichy's France.
Stalin himself then accused the male homosexuals and the lesbian women of placing for the enemy and then being first bourgeois, Trozkists, anti-revolutionaries (1935-1941) and then, when there was the invasion of the USSR, to be disguised Nazis, Precisely by virtue of Nazism as germ of every perversion, homosexual species in particular.
Even in the Middle East since Nasser's time, the use of the sodomita-antisodomita stereotype has been used, also for battles not of faulty armies. Just think of the repression of brotherhood, with accusations also of pedophilia addressed to Hasan to the first and said qtb banna then.
Erdogan, Turkish leader, accused of homophobia at home, has been seen battalions of homosexuals declared in the Syrian war; War - which, according to a certain journalism - is fought between the viriles and the little virile, such as the deceased Caliph of ISIS: a photo of hers was sprouted - of when it was a simple Iraqi citizen - to a transsexual party.
Going beyond the confusion between the gay sphere and the transgender sphere, it is clear that it is a delegitimization of the Islamic State. As well as in Iran, where the pro -Rouhani and anti -Rouhani demonstrators have seen the "passive" depending on the deployment or as in Algeria, where young people against the military regime are "foreigners, pederasts, children of western degeneration".
Finally, in full Soviet tradition, Vladimir Putin has placed the veto of LGBT propaganda in his country and not happy, uses bombs against Ukrainians, who - also not very inclined to civil rights - would be as well as Nazis, gay.
Who knows if we will ever see the day for which the enemy's private life is not the proof of his malice and the alleged rightness of those who, that enemy, fight him.
