Getting lost, getting lost but then you come looking for me
Riflessioni del tempo d’Avvento di Luigi Testa*
“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and look for the one that is lost?” (Mt 18.12)
Getting lost – taking the wrong path, not being able to find your way back, to orient yourself. Maybe I took a wrong turn more than once; I made wrong choices, assessments, directions; maybe I don't know which path to choose, I don't know how to orient myself, I don't know how to understand.
But now you come looking for me, and we will find the road together, hand in hand.
Getting lost – losing heart, getting confused, getting deeply upset. Maybe something confused me; a betrayal, a violence, a word, disturbed me; Maybe everything around me has made me lose heart.
But now you come looking for me, and at the bottom of my heart peace returns.
