I don't condemn you either!
Biblical reflections ofDon Fabio
"Woman, where are they? Has anyone condemned you? ». And she replied: "Nobody, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neanch'io condemns you; go and from now on, don't sin " (Jn 8.1-11)
Very short but intense dialogue between Jesus and the woman!
So strong and profound as to restore dignity and life to that woman.
He doesn't ask her: how many times did you do it? Where did you do it? Who did you do it with? Why did you do it?
Indeed ... he doesn't even ask him if he did it!
God does not affect a dry fig the detailed list of our sins.
If I think of the "morbid" questions of some confessors. Just yesterday, for the umpteenth time, the Pope reiterated the call to confessors not to transform that sacrament into torture.
"Where am I?"
When we remain alone, with our heart, with our soul; When we remain alone with God ... everything disappears!
"Go and from now on, don't sin anymore".
Go and from now on take care of you! Go and from now on you don't hurt you anymore!
Go and from now on, don't begging anyone's love!
Go and from now on loved, respected. You don't have to satisfy anyone's expectations, if not yours.
You are perfect as you are!
