"If you ask the father something in my name, he will give you" (John 16: 23b-28)
Biblical reflections by Mauro Leonardi*, priest and writer
Jesus is the veil that manifests the human face of God that otherwise we could not see. And without this veil, our life would be empty and we would have blind.
From the Gospel according to Giovanni 16: 23b-28
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: «In truth, in truth I say to you: if you ask the Father something in my name, he will give you. So far you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will get, for your joy to be full. I have said these things in similarities; But the time will come when I will no longer tell you in similarities, but I will openly talk to you about the father. On that day you will ask in my name and I do not tell you that I will pray the Father for you: the Father himself loves you, since you loved me, and you believed that I came to God. I left the Father and came to the world ; Now I leave the world again, and I go to the Father ».
