In Florence, Saturday 29 March 2025, at 5.00 pm in the theater "La Fiaba", in via delle Mimose 12 of the parish of Della Blessed Virgin Mary at the Isolotto meeting "listening to the differences" of the fourth meeting of the "Quattro steps of inclusion" path organized to the coordination for a pastoral of inclusion of the diocesan center of family pastoral care of the diocese of Florence
Ready to walk together? The fourth "step" helps us to become an increasingly fraternal and inclusive Cristina community, which knows how to accompany and enhance all in their precious uniqueness!
The fourth meeting of the "Quattro Passi di inclusion" cycle, entitled Listening to the differences, will host Prof.ssa Lucia Vantini, philosopher and theologian, professor of philosophy and fundamental theology in Verona at the Institute of Religious Sciences and at the Theological Studies San Zeno and San Bernardino and member of the coordination of Italian theologians (CTI) and author of numerous publications in which he deals with the philosophy of religion and contemporary theologies, with particular attention to the thought of sexual and gender difference.
During the meeting he will also bring his testimony Maria Assunta, a Catholic mother with a son in transition, offering a precious gaze on his human experience and faith.
In a time when the dialogue on these themes often seems difficult or impossible, Lucia Vantini's reflection will help us clarify: "The thought of sexual difference and gender theories therefore have very different roots both from a historical point of view and from a methodological and practical point of view. For this, the comparison between those who place themselves on one side or the other has never been easy".
For this reason, Vantini continues, use is essential "critic of the gender category, where this is useful to reveal the power hidden in words, where it recalls that the male and the female tend to be built simultaneously, where it helps to unmask and dissolve the stereotypes that bother people in an unleaded destiny"(Lucia Vantini).
The event is open to all people who attend the communities, groups and movements of the Florentine Church, in particular to pastoral operators and workers and anyone who cares about the inclusion paths and recognition of each person's dignity. "Todos, Todos, Todos!": All and all are welcome*!
