The Famiglie in Cammino group for Christian parents with LGBT children is born in Bologna

The group Families on the move was born in Bologna in 2019, when three couples of parents of homosexual children were invited to participate in a meeting, with our archbishop Matteo Zuppi, by the group On the way, created by LGBT people from Bologna back in 1983.

We were literally overwhelmed by the emotion of being able to share our personal experience with other families and other people, each with their own more or less painful experience.

And we said to ourselves, why not try to create a human and spiritual journey with other parents like us?

Then the group Families on the move, which now begins its journey with a first series of monthly meetings, in which from time to time we will address the various aspects of our role as "lucky parents” within the Church, society and family life.

This experience of having a homosexual son has led us to open ourselves to the world, to open our minds outside of our little universe and to make ourselves available to share and learn from all those who want to join us.

We have started to participate in meetings with other groups of parents and LGBT people, and every time we return home more motivated and enriched than before.

The Families on the Way group is included in and collaborates with 3 times parents, the Italian network of Christian parents with LGBT children.
