When the different experiences meet they generate life within the Catholic Church
Testimony of Corrado and Michela della Rete 3volteeni on'National Assembly of the Synodal Network (Assisi, 22-23 February 2025)
'I will give it to your offspring '. I showed you with your eyes, but you won't enter it "(Dt 34.4)
With Michela, my wife, we bring the two beautiful into the heart "Prophetic" days of Assisi In which we have glimpsed "the promised land" of a shared fraternity and sortality, of harmony and beauty of the differences that 54 Italian lay realities have put in place.
It was a "two days" of reflection and comparison, of celebration, of meals consumed together, of the performance of graces and praise celebrated in the Sunday Eucharist, which arrived at the end of an itinerary started 4 years ago on the proposal of "We are church"Of active participation in the synodal path of both the universal and Italian church, which we also joined as a 3 -viewing network and which led to the drafting of various documents collected here online.
In recent years we have always met and we have virtually dialogue, via Chat: it did not seem true that we can finally see us in the face, embrace and listen not only to the words but the heart of those brothers and sisters with whom we had walked.
We were excited!
The mandate was to explore the difficulties, the suffering and, on the other hand, the perspectives, the hope of a beautiful Church, of a inclusive Church, of a Church really people of God in the depths of our experiences.
The experience lived in these 2 days has confirmed that by meeting other experiences, other sensitivity, other tensions, widening our heart and our gaze, we are enriched mutual.
Working on 17 different thematic areas, over 160 people have produced a document of synthesis of the joys and hopes expected for the life of the Church, a document that will be sent to the Italian Synodal Commission for the second and definitive national assembly to be held at the end of March First April in Rome, while a subsequent extended reworking of all the work produced will arrive.
This document, presented in the plenary assembly of Sunday morning, really makes reason for the beauty and wealth that the different sensitivity, the different experiences generate within the life of the Church.
It can be read like a book of dreams, but also as a prophecy, the tangible sign of the breath of the rhha, of the spirit of God who re-souls the body of his Church.
It summarizes and expresses in a admirable way the "vision" that we have had, that together we have touched and experienced, of a "promised land" that we probably will not inhabit but that we now know possible!
