We are no longer slaves or victims of anyone (OSEA 14,2-10)
Biblical reflections by Sister Antonietta Potenchi*
We will get back on my feet if we recover this awareness: we are no longer slaves or slaves of anyone. We no longer have to unjustly offer to those who only know how to generate victims. We are free women and men, because we realized that the one or the one who we are looking for how it is love and dew for us, tree with a great shadow, always green cypress. But the true freedom of the most human human will also be a liberation for the earth that will find its rhythms and will no longer follow the unjust ones of the market and the devastating ones of the wars. This is not romantic poetry, but wisdom and intelligence, so as not to stumble again.
.
From the book of the prophet OSèa 14,2-10
Thus says the Lord:
«Back, Israel, to the Lord, your God,
since you stumbled in your iniquity.
Prepare the words to say
and return to the Lord;
Tell him: “Remove every iniquity,
accepts what is good:
not offering immolated bulls,
But the praise of our lips.
ASSUR will not save us,
we will no longer ride on horses,
nor will we call more "our God"
the work of our hands,
Because with you the orphan finds mercy. "
I will heal them from their infidelity,
I will love them deeply,
since my anger has moved away from them.
I will be as a dew for Israel;
will bloom like a lily
and will take root like a Lebanon tree,
his shoots will spread
and will have the beauty of the olive tree
and the fragrance of Lebanon.
They will return to sit for my shadow,
will revive the wheat,
they will bloom like the vineyards,
They will be as famous as Lebanon's wine.
What do I still have in common with the ìdoli, or èfraim?
I fulfill it and veil about him;
I am like a cypress always green,
Your fruit is my work.
Who is wise to understand these things,
whoever has intelligence understands them;
Since the streets of the Lord are straight,
the righteous people walk in them,
While the wicked people are incomparage ».
